The 2022 ERC champion has established his own team, Llarena Racing, and plans to pass on his extensive expertise and experience to potential customers across the eight-event European season.
He explained: “In 2019 we won the Junior ERC Championship with our own team, our own car, we built the car in our workshops. I have my mechanics and I would like to do it again by myself because it’s a personal challenge. I really love the sport and I want this team to be my future.”
As well as being fully aware of the extra workload he’ll be taking on, the 29-year-old is also mindful of the need to provide customers with the perfect service.
“The plan for me is to do ERC for the full season,” Llarena continued. “We will have our own team with our mechanics and we will also provide services to other drivers, to rent cars or for them to join our team and show them the experience we have in the European championship and in the rally life. It could be really interesting for the customers to enjoy this experience.
“I am doing this team for me but any customer who comes with us will have the full, full focus in trying to win because doing good results is the most important part of rallies.”
Llarena Racing has already acquired its first car for customer use. Llarena himself plans to reveal the identity of the car he will use to power him to more ERC success next month.
The Spaniard placed 10th in the final 2024 ERC standings with his third place on Rally di Roma Capitale (above) his best result alongside long-term co-driver Sara Fernández.
