Swede Carlberg was voted ERC Rookie of the Year by a panel of media experts for his heroics in the Hankook-supplied Junior ERC category in 2024, which included winning the young driver category on Rally Silesia and placing runner-up in the final standings alongside co-driver Jørgen Eriksen.
Having competed for the ADAC Opel Rally Junior Team as his prize for winning the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup in 2023, Carlberg is now working to secure the funds he needs to go for Junior ERC title gold in 2025.
“I’m working flat out to come back next year,” said the 24-year-old. “I won’t give up and [being voted the ERC Rookie of the Year by media] gives me a lot of motivation.”
The 2025 FIA Junior ERC Championship begins with the 42nd running of Rally Sierra Morena - Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad in Andalusia, Spain, from 4 - 6 April.
