Photographers holding permanent ERC media accreditation were invited to submit their personal favourite taken during last year’s eight-round contest.
A shortlist of seven superb photographs is now up for the public vote via the ERC’s social media channels.
The seven ERC Photograph of the Year nominees appear below.
Bogdan Barabas (Romania)
Mārtiṇš Sesks leapt high on Delfi Rally Estonia and Barabas was well placed to capture this particular jump from the Team MRF Tyres driver.
Ondřej Beneda (Czech Repbulic)
Beneda took this shot of high-flying Georg Linnamäe on Delfi Rally Estonia, an event the home hero would eventually win for his maiden ERC victory.
Gábor Béres (Hungary)
Béres was in the right place at the right time to photograph co-driver Attila Nagy being congratulated after he partnered Miklós Csomós to the final spot on the V-Híd Rally Hungary podium.
Sven Kollus (Germany)
Kollus climbed a viewing tower on V-Híd Rally Hungary’s 12th stage, Tés, to capture Jon Armstrong on full attack in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2.
Martin Kovács (Hungary)
Robert Virves had more than just his co-driver Craig Drew for company on Delfi Rally Estonia. The live TV helicopter was also in close proximity, as this photo by Kovács demonstrates.
Bence Pal (Hungary)
Pal captured this image of Simone Tempestini on his way to winning V-Híd Rally Hungary last April.
Greg Roslon (Poland)
This photo of Andrea Mabellini kicking up the dust on V-Híd Rally Hungary was taken by Roslon.
Voting is via the ERC’s social media channels and closes at 12:00 CET on Friday 7 February.
