The 26-year-old from Romania is opening the next “chapter” of his career after finishing runner-up in last season’s FIA Junior WRC Championship, which he was contesting as his prize for claiming Junior ERC title gold in 2023.
Competing as part of the Napoca Rally Academy, an initiative that supports Romanian rallying talent, Maior will upgrade to a Citroën C3 Rally2 run by DTO Rally on Hankook tyres. His sister, Francesca Maior, will co-drive.
Maior’s initial ERC schedule will include VI Rally Hungary from 9 - 11 May followed by ORLEN OIL 81st Rally Poland from 13 - 15 June. However, he’s actively trying to secure additional funding to expand his European campaign, which he’s undertaking in tandem with a Romanian championship assault.
“We competed in junior championships for many years with a lot of support from Romania,” Maior said. “But I was thinking to not be too long in juniors, to do something new. I am 26 years old and I think this could be a good moment to step up and begin a new chapter in my career.”

Maior demonstrated his potential with a stage-winning performance on the Romanian championship-counting Raliul Harghitei last month. He was on course for a podium finish before gearbox failure led to his exit after eight stages.
