The renowned training and development initiative, founded by its patron John Coyne, is represented in the FIA European Rally Championship’s three principal categories on the Spanish Tarmac event with Jon Armstrong and Shane Byrne among the contenders for a podium finish in Córdoba on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of today’s reconnaissance, Armstrong said: “I’ve done every rally on the calendar apart from this one, but I’ve been researching the stages online and they look quite fast and flowing with sections on new Tarmac and on more abrasive, older Tarmac that’s slightly broken. It’s similar to Rally Catalunya from when it was in the WRC. I expect the Spanish championship regulars to be fast because they’ve done it a lot. The asphalt stages in Spain are always a big challenge.”
