The Czech led the Rally3-based category from start to finish alongside British co-driver Tom Woodburn and started Sunday’s deciding leg in front by 53.3sec, a margin he was able to grow throughout the day, despite the high ambient and ground temperatures.
Kohn also took top points in the Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, which concludes on his home event, Barum Czech Rally Zlín, next month.
“Big emotions, a really nice rally but really tricky because it’s really a struggle in the heat, like it is for everyone else,” Kohn said. “But it’s really nice to be at the finish in first place and I want to thank my whole team, my co-driver, my dad, thank you guys. My target was to win and that’s what we did.”
Newcomer Hubert Kowalczyk finished second aboard his Renault Clio Rally3 as Kerem Kazaz grabbed third after 2022 ERC3 champion Igor Widlak crashed out on a left-hand corner in the opening kilometre of the Power Stage.
Martin Ravenščak restarted on Sunday morning following his exit on SS6 and finished fifth behind Aleksandar Tomov, who stepped up to ERC3 level for the first time.
“It was such a stupid mistake,” the Croation driver said. “It was a three-right into a three- right, don’t cut and I turned it into the second corner too much and I hit an anti-cut device and broke the wheel so it was over. That’s rally but I hope that mistake doesn’t happen again.”
The all-asphalt Barum Czech Rally Zlín hosts round six of the FIA ERC3 Championship season from 16 - 18 August.
